How to Approve Tagged Posts on Instagram

Instagram has a separate section for tagged photos and videos. When a person tags you, it will be added automatically to your profile.

Now we all know that tagged pictures aren’t good always. So it’s better to approve tagged posts first. Once you approve them, only then they will be added to your profile.

To enable this setting, do this:

Step 1: Under Instagram Settings, tap on Photos of you.

Instagram Privacy Settings 19A

Step 2: Disable the Add Automatically option.

NOTE: You can also hide your existing tagged posts using the Hide photos setting present under Photos of you.

How To Turn Off Comments For A Post On Instagram

1. Update Your App

Before attempting to alter your comment settings, head over to the ol’ app store to make sure you are using the latest version of ‘gram. The new comment control features are rolling out Monday, Dec. 6, so once you update, you can finally let your images stand alone.

2. Open “Advanced Settings”

In order to turn off commenting before you post an image, simply tap on the “advanced settings” option at the bottom of your screen.

3. Select “Turn Off Commenting”

Toggle on the switch and commenting will be disabled for the new post. If you change your mind, don’t sweat it! This feature is quite flexible and commenting can be turned back on at any time!

Turning Off Commenting For An Existing Post:

1. Select The “…” Menu On The Post

Say you have a post that has been getting a lot of attention, but not the kind you want. In the past, you may have been temped to delete your personal post or change your account to private — but now there’s a better option! In order to retroactively turn off commenting for a public post, open your Instagram profile, select the post you want to alter, and tap on the “…” icon in the upper right hand corner of the screen.

2. Tap “Turn Off Commenting”

To disable commenting, tap the “Turn Off Commenting” option. The little speech bubble icon that is typically seen between the “heart” and the “sharing” icons will disappear. It’s a fairly subtle change so most viewers won’t even realize that comments are disabled on the post until they try to write something. Ah, silence!

How to post more than one photo at once in Instagram

how to use instagram guide 14

In February 2017, Instagram introduced the ability to post more than one photo at a time. Now, you can post up to 10 photos at once in an album. Albums show up as a single post in the feed, but your followers can swipe to see all of the photos.

To post multiple images at once, simply tap on more than one image when uploading from your device. Instagram will automatically create an inline, carousel-style album. While you can post up to 10 photos, you’re limited to a single caption for the entire album. What’s more, images must all be cropped to the same aspect ratio, so no mixing and matching of portrait, landscape, and square images.

How to take or post a photo with Instagram

When you share posts on Instagram, you have two options: taking a photo with Instagram’s camera, or uploading one from your phone’s photo library. You can tap the camera icon at the bottom of the screen to take a photo, or to select one from your phone. From the camera, you can switch the photo grid on and off, switch between the front-facing and back-facing camera, or choose whether or not to use the flash. You can tap the shutter button to take a photo, or hit the video icon to record video.

Once you’ve chosen a photo, you can add effects from the editing tools at the top of the screen or select a filter from the choices at the bottom of the screen. Then you can write a caption for the photo, tag people in the photo, add it to your Photo Map, or share it to Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, or Flickr. When you write the caption to your photo, you can use #hashtags and @mentions. Mentions let you bring a post to the attention of another user — who will get a notification when you mention him or her in a post — and hashtags will help other Instagram users to find your posts, or help you to tag or categorize your posts for yourself.

To tag people in a photo, tap “Tag People” and tap on someone in the photo. Start entering their name or username, and select the correct users from the dropdown menu that appears. If the person that you want to tag doesn’t appear in that menu, tap “Search for a person” to find him or her. If your photos are public, then anyone can see the photo, and the person tagged in the photo will get a notification. If your photos are private, then only people who are following you will be able to see the photo. The person whom you tag in the photo will get a notification if they’re following you. (You can see and manage the photos that other people tag you in from your profile.)

When you post your photo, it will appear both on your profile and in your feed. If you’ve set your profile to private, only the people whom you’ve approved to follow you will be able to see it.

In addition to friends and family, you can tag any brand who has an Instagram account. In this case, I am tagging an organization, so I am placing my tag where the company’s logo appears in the picture.

After tapping on the photo, the words “Who’s this” will appear where you’ve placed the tag. tag-people-on-instagram
